The Regatta in Wgtn and some fun pics....

We have managed a few days outside between to the cold and rainy days of June this year. Last weekend we headed off to the windsurfing regatta in Worthington. It was a gorgeous evening, but as luck would have it, not that windy for the windsurfers. It was fun to just stroll around outside and see some familiar faces we haven't seen for a while.
Ava continues to love rides in her wagon. We found her sunglasses from last year and she loves them. She will not take them off. You have to actually remove them from her face or she will just continue wearing them. She is a character!

Our 2nd Annual Trip with all the kids to the Washington Pavillion...

It was our second trip with both my sisters and all the kids to the Washington Pavillion in Sioux Falls to the children's science center. Last year, the kids seemed to thoroughly enjoy it, but this year it wasn't quite so successful. The two oldest kids, Zachary and Sam seemed to have fun, but the other three younger kids were touch and go. The water table area seemed to be a hit with all the kids, even Ava. However, she refused to wear the waterproof apron over her clothes, so she was soaked. We held her under the hot air dryer kicking and screaming so she was somewhat dry, but she had to live with a little dampness for a couple of hours. We only lasted at the museum for about an hour and a half, and then headed to Culver's for lunch. Then it was back to our house for naps. You just never know how well things are going to go over. We'll have to see how it goes next year...

Toby - 3 1/2 years
My sister Sandy and her boys, Zachary and Toby, are back for a little over 3 weeks from Tucson. I think it has been a rather miserable trip weather wise so far with our unseasonably cold June. They brought very little warm clothes, so they are doing lots of laundry. The boys love to play outside at the farm, so the rainy days indoors are a little rough. We celebrated Zachary's 8th birthday the first Saturday they were here. We enjoyed cake and homeade ice cream and Zachary of course enjoyed opening his gifts. It was a fun day and the first time we've all been together for almost a year!
