Ava would never miss a chance at the park....even if it is cold!

Daddy & Ava going down the slide She has no fears...all the way to the top of the biggest slide
Shear delight!
Riding the horse
Our little munchkin would never miss a chance to go to the park. She is having trouble adjusting to the fact that we can't go outside every day. She often asks to go outside and if we can go to the park. I will then bring her to the window and show her that it is cold and rainy, and she will let it go for about an hour before bringing it up again. Her faves are still the swing and slide. It was brisk, but she never complained about being cold.
On a side note, Ava has now added the number 6 back in when she counts to 10, so we are glad about that. We are trying to get Ava to learn her colors right now. Despite our efforts, the only color she likes to say is "dareen" (green). If you ask her what color something is, this is her default response.

A cold visit to Grandpa & Grandma Sieve's.....

We had to haul out the hat, mittens, and winter coat
Grandma Joyce and Ava
Ava styling her own hair
We made a chilly trip to the Sieve farm a couple of weeks ago. Brad helped Gary prepare a bin site with the skidloader while Ava and I watched. It was extremely cold and windy, but Ava would never complain. She loves to be outside and see all the machinery as well as the cows. She was pretty afraid of Max (the dog) when he barked a couple of times. She would immediatly get the quivering lip and and want to be held. We enjoyed some hot chocolate and Ava even took a very brief nap in her pack-n-play. Ava now talks about Grandpa and Grandma Sieve as"Papa" and "Doyce". She really can't say Grandma, so that is what we are going to go with for now.

Miss Independent - 23 Months....

Entertaining herself What do you think....does the pointed toe elongate her legs?
Digging in Mommy's work bag
Bedtime in Mommy's bathroom
Ava had certainly become "Miss Independent" lately. She likes to make her own decisions about things. She now decides which bathroom she would like to use when she has to go potty by pointing and saying "this one". When we tell her it's time for a bath, she proudly lets us know if she wants to take a bath in her bathroom or mommy's bathroom. Usually it is the big bathtub with the bubbles that she prefers. She also really likes to take showers now. Ava and I quite often take showers as it kills two birds with one stone and she loves it. She never wants to get out. She also hides from us when she is doing something wrong. If she disappears, it usually means she has snuck off to her room to empty out her wipes container and make little balls out of each wipe. When caught, she bows her head and covers her eyes while being very silent. That usually lasts for a couple of seconds, then she jumps up and starts stuffing the wipes back in the container in an effort to avoid a timeout. I'm afraid we have an almost 2 year old on our hands!
