Happy 6th Birthday to Ava!

My poser- watching for the bus

Ava could hardly wait for Daddy to get home so she could dig into her presents.

Hello Kitty clothes!

AG backpack

A new locker for her American Girl

Her request for birthday brownies, not cake!

Ava's anticipation for her birthday was no different this year than it has been for the last couple of years.  She was so excited for the day to finally get here and had been counting down for quite some time.  We started out the day with her request for breakfast which was an egg sandwich.  Brad and I both met her for lunch at school which she was very excited about.  After she got home from school, she was so anxious for Brad to get home so she could open her gifts.  Then we headed to Sioux Falls to go out to her requested restaurant which was Culver's for supper.  Then it was the long awaited stop to the mall to get her ears pierced.

Happy Halloween Yáll!

Trunk or Treating downtown

Our annual stop to Hannah & Luke's.  Tristan was an adorable little sailor boy!

Ava was more than willing to venture around without us holding her hand.  She liked being in charge of Owen and went from house to house while we waiting by the curb.

Trick or treating was a big hit for the kids this year.  Owen was even really into it.  They got a ton of candy as usual!  They made pretty cute pair!

Pumpkin Carving....

Ava got right in there to see what the inside of the pumpkin was like, but had to go wash her hands shortly after

Owen refused to get anywhere near the inside of the pumpkin as he didn't want to get "dirty" like Ava.

Brad did a great job carving.  The kids enjoyed helping.

Pumpkin #1 done

Ava was head photographer

Even though it seems like the week was a little crazy, we were glad we let the kids stay up past their bedtime to carve up these beauties!

Duluth Trip: First stop at the waterfront

Brad & kids in front of the lighthouse

The famous drawbridge

A look back at the city

Walking out to the lighthouse

Skipping rocks into Lake Superior

We drove down Canal Park to a sandy beach.  Ava thought it was the ocean!

The kids could have spent all day here finding rocks and playing by the waves.  It was quite chilly, as it was late morning when we were there.  The kids didn't seem to mind.

Ava loved watching the waves

A gorgeous beach and walk for a brisk morning.
