Twin Cities Trip....

In the aquarium at the Mall of America

Lunch Time!

Swimming at the Hotel

We have a fearless fish on our hands!

Ava loved being underwater so it was hard to capture a picture of her

Owen learned to jump off the side and loved it!

We took a last minute trip to the cities this past weekend.  We left late Friday and came back Sunday afternoon.  Ava ran a little fever Friday and was under the weather a little on Saturday, but remained in good spririts even though she looked like she could fall asleep at any moment.  We didn't have any definite plans other than the kids had never been to the Mall of America.  They enjoyed the rides and the aquarium, but were worn out and ready to head back to the room early Saturday afternoon.  We rested a bit and then swam in the hotel pool for a few hours.  They loved every minute of it.  It was nice to stay in and order pizza and then get the kids to bed fairly early.  They were exhausted after neither of them slept the first night.  Needless to say, we will not try to have them sleep together at a hotel again anytime soon, as Owen was "bugging" Ava all night and he never stopped talking or hitting her according to her.  We all slept much better (Owen on his own air mattress) the second night.  Brad even put up with a little outlet mall shopping on our way home.  It was a fun weekend, but we were all happy to be home in our own beds!

Twin Cities Trip...

First stop: Mall of America Nickelodeon Universe

The kids loved the horsies!

Kitty Rollercoaster

Owen's favorite ride- he could have just sat and watched the ride all day long I think

There was a button to push to raise and lower them and they loved pushing it!

This looks like a fairly tame ride, but those little cars took the corners quite fast!

Next stop was the aquarium

The Easter egg hunt in Grandma's basement

Grandma Easter Bunny even got gifts for the kids

Reese (7 mths)

We had a busy Easter Sunday starting with church.  Then we headed down to my parents for lunch and the afternoon.  Mom made a ham, cheesy potatoes, and sides which were all fantastic.  We had an Easter egg hunt in the basement which the kids all seemed to enjoy.   Although the weather was a little chilly, the kids still seemed to enjoy playing a little outside and indoors.  When we talked with Ava about the meaning of Easter, this is what she already knew:
"On Good Friday, Jesus died on the cross for our sins.  Easter is 3 days later which is Sunday and that's when He rose again.  That's what I learned in Sunday School."  I was pretty impressed :)
