We decided it was time that Owen could get out of "baby jail"as Brad calls his crib. He hadn't tried to climb out yet that we had witnessed, but we thought he was certainly old enough to be able to get out of his bed when he wants. Owen was so thrilled when Brad got out his tools to take the siderail off and put the toddler bed side on. He kept saying "Daddy fix crib". He was more than willing to help Brad hold tools as was Ava. When it was all done, he was so excited for his "big boy bed". Knock on wood, but it has gone very well. He has not gotten out of his bed at an odd time once. He sleeps his normal hours without an issue. I have had him get up after a half hour or so when he was supposed to be napping, but it hasn't ever been an issue at bedtime. It was a little adjustment for us to have him just show up in the kitchen in the morning when he wakes up. I thought maybe he would stay in his bed and wait for me to get him, but he just walks out. Luckily, he's the late sleeper of our kids, so there hasn't been a problem with him waking Ava up. He's getting to be such a big boy!!
