Owen's 1st Teeth...

Two new teeth to add to that grin!

On May 28, 2011, Owen had his first two teeth pop through on the bottom at 7 and 1/2 months old. I had noticed that he had been drooling quite a bit, but had didn't seem abnormally fussy. The day I looked in his mouth and saw the two new additions was the only day that I thought he seemed like he was in pain. Since then, he has had some rough days where he really seems like he is hurting. Tylenol seems to help and he naps better when he has taken it. Night time has not been an issue. He has slept great every night. It looks like it won't be long until we see some teeth on top.

This past weekend, it was Buffalo Days in Luverne. The weather was absolutely beautiful. We went to the parade right away in the morning which Ava thoroughly enjoyed. She managed to score some candy and even an ice cream bar, so that was a highlight. Favorites of the parade for Ava were the horses and go carts. Owen looked like he could have fallen asleep during the whole parade, but there was just enough noise to keep him awake for its entirety. We then headed to the city park where there were many vendors set up. We ate a whole bunch of things we shouldn't have and then headed home for naps. It was a great day and so nice to enjoy the outdoors!

Is it time to go home yet?

After being forced to take the summer off from playing (actively anyway) last year, I was ready to make up for it. The 10 year old in me was resurrected, and Ava and I played at the park. We went down the slide together about 50 times while Brad and Owen observed. Ava would have done it 1000 times if I would have had the energy. She never shows signs of fatigue at the park! I had some signs of fatigue let me tell you!

Yes, I did this....

Owen is extremely busy lately. You really have to be quick changing his diaper and be able to do it while he is completely twisted on his side as he is obsessed with getting the stuff off the table. The above scene happened in about 15 seconds while I was crouched down in front of his changing table looking for something for him to wear in a drawer. Once he was "caught", he was more than happy to flash me a grin! He was so proud that he finally got that basket tipped over!

Owen 7 Months...

He loves wheels!

At 7 months, Owen is quite the character. He loves to play on the floor and so full of smiles. He loves attention, especially from his big sister.

Sleep: Owen is sleeping from 8:00pm to 7:30 or 8:00 am. He is taking two naps, usually each of them will be around 2 hours each. He is a very good sleeper.

Food: Owen is cutting back a little on milk and is picking up on solid foods. He still eats a half jar of baby food, once per day, but I think he would eat 3 jars if I let him. He loves to eat and his skills are improving every day.

Activity: Owen is very busy. He is constantly moving and looking around. It is rare to see him sitting still. He prefers to be on the floor where he can navigate to wherever he wants to go. He is moving by rolling and scooting, but no sign of crawling. He is really playing with toys, especially Ava's toys that have wheels on them like her stroller. It's almost as if he is attracted to those wheels! It must be a boy thing!

His temperment is very mellow. We really don't hear much out of him unless it is time for a nap or some food. He is very happy playing with toys and moving around, especially if Ava plays too!

We had Hannah and Luke over for birthday cake for Hannah's birthday. Ava couldn't have been more excited for a birthday party as usual! Hannah took in year 26 in stride! This summer marks 2 years that Hannah has been coming to our house. So hard to believe! Ava was just 18 months old when Hannah started watching her. She will have a special place in our lives for a long time :)

Park Fun...

Owen - 7 months

We had a long overdue day at the park when the weather finally got nice. Ava couldn't have been more excited as she has been asking to go for quite some time. Owen even got in on the fun and enjoyed the swing. He was grinning ear to ear and Ava just loved that he could swing with her. We also have to go look at the water nearly every time we are at the park. Ava never tires of asking about the water and if we can go swimming in it.
