Swimming Lessons
After some stalling on the board, Steph got out of the water for assistance and pretty much escorted Ava off the board in slow motion
Ava loves swimming lessons! She can't wait for lesson time and never forgets the days I tell her they are scheduled. She is in Level 1 and Steph says she does extremely well for a 5 year old. Her swimming strokes are improving all the time. The only thing she is scared of this year is the diving board. The lesson after this one, she went off 5 times and the last two she went off without a life jacket. Hopefully, we have conquered that fear! Steph is amazing and Ava loves her!
Swingset & Soccer....
We have soccer on Mondays in June which Ava has already told me she likes better than gymnastics. I'm guessing because it's outside. This is Ava's third time in soccer and she has now graduated to an older class that works on more skills. I have to say I was impressed with her hussle and really trying to do what they were teaching her. It also helped that her BFF Hannah was there. So fun to watch her learn new things and Owen enjoyed watching the kids.
A chilly Buffalo Days....
Puppet Show
It was fairly breezy for Buffalo Days this year. We enjoyed the parade, food in the park, and Ava's dance performance even though it was freezing. Owen was very tired so Brad took him home for a nap, and Ava and I stayed for the inflatables and puppet show. It was a fun day even though it was not the best weather!
Last Dance Recital of the Year....
Gymnastics Camp....
Ava was thrilled to attend gymnastics camp that was offered through community education. She knew a few girls there from preschool which made it even better. She really seemed to participate much more this year than I've seen her in the past. When they were running she would even try to beat other girls which is not like my noncompetitive daughter. They rotated between 3 stations once stretching and warmups were complete. They practiced doing small fips and landing on a mat (like the vault), balance beam, and bars. Ava's favorite was flipping over the bars. Each day she was a little less afraid and wasn't hanging on the bar for dear life. Owen even seemed to enjoy hanging out and watching for the hour each day.
