Ava's Unique Words at 22 Months...

Ava is starting to really like "babies" Saying "cheese" on command for the camera
Modeling her new sunglasses
Cleaning the floor- a daily task
Ava has some very interesting words lately. It seems she is always chit chatting about something. She will sit and "read" books aloud and can be quite expressive with her words. She says many words very plainly, but there are many that have us quite puzzled. She is not afraid to repeat a word 20 or 30 times if we are not responding to what she wants. Here are a few words that we have found a little comical:
"dip" - bib (she has gotten better at this one)
"ocean"- lotion (she asks to have lotion put on several times a day)
"oh gut" - yogurt (one of her favorite snacks)
"I want some mom" - yeah, I am apparently like a second helping of spaghetti
"shicker" - sticker
Ava also really enjoys going "bye bye" lately. She often asks if we can leave. I don't think she really likes being gone all that long because many times she asks for her house when we are away. It's usually just whatever we aren't doing that she wants to do!

Cousin Addison's 3rd Birthday Party...

The Birthday Girl Opening gifts
Grandma & the birthday girl
Grandpa Glenn & Ava playing ball
Lighting bottle rockets & snakes for the kids
Aunt Shelly & Ava
My sister Shelly's daughter Addison turned 3 years old. We headed to Sioux City to celebrate her birthday. She is all girl...loving her doll house and anything with princesses on it. Ava continues to strive to keep up with Sam & Addie. She enjoyed playing with the van that went with Addie's dollhouse. She was, of course, scared of the bottle rockets as her extreme sensitivity to loud noises continue. She even covered her ears for the snakes after we attempted to explain that they didn't make any noise. It was a gorgeous day! Maybe one of our last nice summer days!

Turkey Day 2009....

Okay, so there really aren't any pictures of Turkey Day festivities in Worthington. I forgot my camera when we watched the turkeys race down the street and sat through the very lengthy parade. After the festivities, we headed to our friends Ken and Kelli Reiter's campsite. We had a great time visiting and the kids had fun running around. It was a long day with no nap for Ava and late getting to bed. It was very fun though!
