On our 4th and final day of soccer for both of the kids, we finally got to have it outside. The rain subsided for one day of sunshine for soccer. Also on this day, Cousin Toby was there to watch and ended up joining in with the preschool soccer and kinder soccer with Ava.
Soccer was a struggle for Owen. I don't think it was the sport, but more his "first activity" and he had a hard time leaving Mom's side. I was very excited on this last day that he decided to play. It certainly helped that Toby was there!
I'm not going to lie here...Owen loved to carry the ball and did not want to conform to the rule of just kicking!
Ava's turn
Ava actually really tried this year in soccer. She really enjoydd it even though she was the only girl in her age group.
The water bottle was pretty cool too!
T Ball!
Ava is up to bat and got a hit!
Ava on 1st base.
Another time up to bat.
Flashback to first day of soccer! Owen looks so excited here...just wait until we get to the gym.
Here Ava is talking him off the ledge as he wants to run back and sit by me.
Look, he's sitting there by himself!
Ava ended up playing with him. It was nice the coach would let her do that.
TBall picture day
It was a busy month of June with both kids having soccer on Mondays, TBall every Tuesday and Thursday, and usually 3 days of swimming lessons mixed in there for Ava. They both loved the activities even though Ava struggled to be up for 8:30am TBall. She seemed to catch on to the general rules of TBall fairly quickly. She listened to the coach but doesn't have the greatest throw yet. It's really hard for her to throw the ball overhand very far. She seemed to enjoy it though. On the last day, they hit live pitch and she even got a pretty good hit. Her team was Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders. She was one of only two Kindergartners, so it seemed the other girls had more experience. She did a lot of socializing when she was on base or playing a base which is so Ava!
